Windows 10 support ends on October 14, 2025

It’s been looming for a while, but it’s now imminent! Windows 10 support ends on October 14, 2025.

Windows 10 end of support

Increasing risk to your business

At this point technical assistance and software updates will no longer be provided by Microsoft, so devices still running Windows 10 will become increasingly insecure and a potential target for attack. Anti-virus software providers will wind down their support for their products running on Windows 10 devices, which further increases the risk to your business data. Other software providers will also withdraw their support for their products running on Windows 10 devices, so the impact to your business operations could be significant if you delay upgrading until October or later.

Support for Microsoft 365 apps on Windows 10 will end on October 14, 2025, when Windows 10 reaches end of support. Although these applications will continue to run on Windows 10, we strongly recommend upgrading to Windows 11 to avoid performance and reliability issues with using those apps over time.???????

It’s possible we may continue to provide some support to our customers for Windows 10 devices on a best efforts basis, while you transition to Windows 11, but since these devices will present a risk to your business, there’s a limit to what we can do. We certainly won’t be able to prevent problems arising and the number of problems occurring will likely increase, affecting your productivity. Eventually we too will decline to support these older devices at all.

End of support is just 6 months away! 6 months is no time at all and will pass in the blink of an eye. Now is the time to start planning to bring your IT estate up to date.

Don’t leave it until the last minute!

If you have devices running Windows 10, we recommend upgrading them to a more current, in-service, and supported Windows release as soon as possible.

Of course we are expecting a last minute rush of requests in September, just like we had when Windows 8.1 support ended a few years ago. Whilst our technicians are superheroes, they haven’t yet developed the ability to be in multiple places at the same time! 😉

Certainly we want to avoid any of our valued customers being disappointed, or put at risk because upgrades can’t be performed before the deadline.

If you have devices running Windows 10, we recommend upgrading them to a more current, in-service, and supported Windows release as soon as possible.

To avoid disappointment, inconvenience and risk to your business data and productivity, we recommend you ask us for a quote, or book us to perform your upgrades right away, rather than leaving it until September!

If your devices are several years old and do not meet the technical requirements to run Windows 11, we recommend that you replace your older devices with devices that support Windows 11. Again, please contact us for a quote now, rather than leaving it until September.
